Well, here is my final and last possible idea for my capstone project.
Childhood obesity in elementary schools. It will take a lot of investigating and refining, but I think it is possible. I will research what kinds of home lives the overweight kids come from. I will also look into the "normal" diet of an overweight kid from each social class (if possible). From there I will look into if the kids play sports or if they do dance classes, how much physical activity they actually get. Also what is offered to the kids through the school. Does it cost money for the kids to play? Is that maybe why the overweight lower class kids are how they are? I am also going to challenge this new food system Michelle Obama has put in place. I am going to see if by having no salt in a person's diet if it will actually change someone's health drastically. I may go to a few local elementary schools and talk to teachers to see if they have noticed a trend over the years. I might even come up with a game that gets kids active without them realizing it. This game may even include facts or ideas about how to be healthy.
These are some tall orders and it may be hard or challenging. I will definitely need to refine this topic if I do decide to choose it.
O Out.
